Yes, we are very much pleased to inform the general public, that the 2016/2017 JAMB CUT OFF MARK FOR ALL SCHOOLS – UNIVERSITIES, POLYTECHNICS AND COLLEGES OF EDUCATION has been released and published online!
All candidates who sat for the 2016 JAMB UTME cbt examination, should note that after checking their results online, using the jamb result checking portal, the next step is to check the official jamb cut off marks for 2016.
Just like i said above, after you’ve checked your result, you are to see your chosen course or institution cut off marks for admission, then proceed and see if it works for you, or simply do the jamb change of course and institution for 2016 before it becomes too late.
After several candidates who just checked their results, they have been asking Dailyschoolnews.com, what the cut-off marks their preferred schools would use for the 2016/2017 admission.
Please, it is very important for us to make this clear right now — nobody can categorically tell you what the schools would use as their cut-off marks right now until the management of those schools announced it.
Let’s take note of this, an example of this scenerio, is the case of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) who did changed their Post-UTME cut-off mark from 180 to 200 during the 2014/2015 admission, where as, candidates who scored 180 and made them their most preferred institution lost out. Some schools may change cut-off marks for 2016/17 admission too.
So what are the cut-off marks for 2016/17 Post UTME/Admission?
The truth is that JAMB made it clear that all Universities cut off marks starts from 180, and there’s no limitation to it. All Nigerian Universities cut off marks starts from 180, but the school, might choose to increase it, depending on it’s applicants. Take for example, University of Lagos (unilag), where JAMB placed the 2015/2016 cut off marks at 180, and they raised it to 250! You can see how degrading that was to her jamb applicants, no doubt there were protest from parents, but JAMB has no power in issues like this.
As all Nigerian Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education starts to release cut-off marks for 2016/17 admission, we will update them on our article, which is specifically dedicated to the 2015/16 Post-UTME Screening Updates.
