As alleged by some of the biggest Nigerian Newspapers that the 2019 JAMB UTME result will be released today, Monday, 29th April 2019, it’s still not released and JAMBites are getting more anxious to see their results.
New report reaching our news desk today is that the results of more than 1.8 Million candidates who sat and participated in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be released very soon. The reason why the UTME Result is yet to be released as at the time of publishing this news is that the JAMB UTME board is still awaiting reports from the 687 Computer Based Test centers which was used for the conduct of the examination around the 36 states of Nigeria, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, has officially said in a signed statement.
The board said the review of reports from the 687 UTME centers will be concluded on Monday or latest, Tuesday, 30th April 2019.
This information was disclosed today in FCT Abuja by the JAMB spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
He attributed the delay in releasing the results today to fraudulent practices of some candidates who sat for the examination which was held on April 11th – 17th.
According to the JAMB spokesperson, some candidates have abused some of the innovations which were recently introduced by the UTME board of directors, leaving it to properly screen the UTME results to ensure that the board does not release the results of a compromised examination.
Dr. Fabian disclosed and I quote below:
“Right now, the JAMB board is currently comparing reports from the field and as soon as we finish the comparison of reports which is either today or tomorrow, we will commence the process of releasing the results of all candidates who sat for the 2019 UTME.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin went further to disclosed that the board will also be investigating all issues of biometric failure which took place during the conduct of the examination.
There were reports from various centers across the nation of biometric verification challenge experienced during the examination.
However, he disclosed that the Board will look into the Biometric Verification issue as soon as it finishes releasing the UTME results, to make certain that candidates with genuine biometric issues are not made to suffer before seeing their results.
According to the Spokesperson, if a candidate could be captured during their UTME Registration, then there is nothing stopping the fingerprints of such candidate from being captured during their examination.
Finally, he said that the Board will investigate all issues of biometric verification reported. If the board is able to find the cases to be genuine, then they will do the needful.
